A mountain take
Grown at higher altitude on rocky soils: structure, light, and grip.

El Bertu was born after a dinner in the Tortonese hills: all it took was one sip of the local native white wine and we fell in love with it. We brought it back home, to see what it could become on our rocky soils and at higher altitude. This is our mountain version of a grape with character, now grown where it had never been before.

El Bertu is named after Roberto, Mauro’s brother, who first discovered the fresh flavor of the native white grapes of the tortonese over that dinner where it all began. This wine is for him — a bold, generous white, made from a grape we didn’t know we’d fall in love with.
Grown at higher altitude on rocky soils: structure, light, and grip.
Bright acidity, exotic fruit, and a lingering mineral finish.
Named for the man who opened that first bottle, around a shared table.
